The stunning sandy beach, turquoise flat water and reliable winds make Dahab one of the best windsurfing spots in the world. Due to the flat water in the lagoon and speedy, and the bump and jump conditions in Kamikaze, Dahab is perfect for all levels of windsurfing and kitesurfing.
The wind funnels down the Gulf of Aqaba, between the Mountains providing on average 280 days of wind a year above a force four. It is generally windier in the mornings until mid afternoon, but sometimes can blow all day and night.
There are four main windsurfing area's to suit everyone:
The Lagoon is perfect for beginners and practicing your skills, with a sandy bottom and a sand spit to catch anyone heading downwind.
Area two or speedy is located behind the sand spit meaning unbelievable flat water, and more consistent wind. An amazing spot for practicing moves or blasting hence it's name!
Baby bay is a perfect place for freestyle and has a natural curve to help get round those carve gybes.
Kamikaze is the wavy area with swell from the top of the Gulf of Aqaba for bump and jump conditions for the more adventurous.
For kitesurfing there is shallow, flat water lagoon which is perfect for learning or the new area (four) further downwind with constant cross shore winds for experienced kitesurfers.

Kitesurfing In Dahab

Kitesurfing is the new cool sport. Great fun and truly exhilarating.
There are two great kite spots – the kite lagoon (a shallow flat water lagoon next to the Coralia hotel) and Centre 4 (Mercure Bay View hotel) downwind which has constant cross shore winds and lots of space for everyone. There is a nice little beach downwind to land on.
Cabrinha kite kit, a compressor to pump up your kite, launching and landing assistance and rescue cover (Centre 4) included.
COURSES
A 5 day beginner course (2 hours per day including all equipment) is €290. This includes ‘walkie talkie’ radios so you can always hear your instructor and make the most of your lesson time.
Fancy an advanced lesson or a refresher? These are €85 for 2 hours.
